This summer, Safeguard travelled across the world to spread the word about the project's mission and achievements. On behalf of the project’s communication and dissemination partner, Pensoft Publishers, Safeguard attended three major events in Europe and Asia showcasing various promotional materials.

The first stop was the 27th International Congress of Entomology (ICE2024), held at the Kyoto International Conference Center, Japan, between 25 and 30 August 2024. The congress, themed ‘New Discoveries through Consilience’, gathered around 4,000 entomological experts, researchers and key stakeholders from more than 80 countries.

After that, between 9 and 13 September 2024, Safeguard visited the GfÖ24 conference of the German Ecological Society in Freising, Bavaria. The conference aimed to present, discuss and advance ecological knowledge that contributes to innovative land use and management strategies.

Finally, Safeguard took an active part in the 9th Student Conference on Conservation Science (SCCS Europe) between 10 and 14 September 2024 in Balatonvilágos, Hungary. You can learn more about Safeguard’s participation in the event here.

During the three events, Pensoft distributed an array of project materials, including Safeguard’s policy brief, one-pager, and stickers. Other essential materials showcased at the booth were Safeguard’s stakeholder summaries of key project publications and promotional materials for the Safeguard Knowledge Exchange Hub (Safe-Hub) – Safeguard’s new integrative platform facilitating access to new and exciting knowledge on pollinators at national and European levels.
