At the beginning of 2025, the Safeguard project introduced its first series of practice abstracts, exploring critical issues in pollinator conservation by providing practical recommendations to tackle challenges and make a positive change.
Right after the holiday season, Safeguard is glad to introduce five additional practice abstracts, published on the dedicated project page of the EU CAP Network website. The EU’s Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) Network is a forum through which National CAP Networks, organisations, administrations, researchers, entrepreneurs and practitioners share knowledge and information about agriculture and rural policy.
The recently published research outputs focus on various aspects of pollinator conservation – from landscape management in fragmented high-value habitats and intensively managed agricultural landscapes, to plant-pollinator interaction networks and pollinator-promoting interventions. The findings highlight the essential role of wild pollinators in maintaining biodiversity and enhancing food security, while also offering practical recommendations to mitigate threats.
By extending the collection, the project aims to support its mission of safeguarding wild pollinator populations and ensuring sustainable ecosystems.
In addition to the text version of the practical recommendations, Safeguard has also designed a visual version of the practice abstracts, which will be introduced in a dedicated social media campaign in October 2025.
