Zafarani Uwingabire is joining Safeguard as a post-doctoral researcher at the French National Research Institute for Agriculture, Food, and the Environment (INRAe), Agroecology Joint Research Unit in Dijon, France. She is interested in the analysis and development of sustainable agricultural and food systems and studies the economic and nutritional impacts of environmental/climatic changes on social welfare. Her main focus is assessing the impacts of pollinator decline on food production and consumption at global and local scales. As part of her research, she will contribute to the project and work to identify the worldviews, values and evidence that support pollinator conservation in Europe.
