A study conducted as part of the Safeguard project has been featured by the European Commission's Directorate-General for Environment (DG-ENV). The feature highlights the study's relevance to EU biodiversity and pollinator conservation policy.

The DG-ENV article highlights research examining the worldviews and values of key stakeholder groups - including businesses, NGOs, research institutions and policymaking bodies - in EU pollinator conservation. The study found broad agreement on the intrinsic value of nature, while also pointing to the potential to appeal to a wider range of values, including relational values such as moral responsibility, to strengthen the impact of conservation policy.

DG-ENV leads the European Commission's development and delivery of environmental policy. Being featured by such an influential institution is a recognition of Safeguard's contribution to evidence-based approaches to pollinator conservation.
